Offered by the School of Social Sciences, Psychology involves the study of individuals and groups – how we think, act, react and interact. Its application is based on two fundamental principles, namely, the betterment of individual, group and community life and absence of harm.

These characteristics have made psychology a thriving academic discipline and a vital professional practice whose influence relates to most aspects of private and public life. These include education, health, management, the economy, workplace practices, social welfare, mental health and notions of social justice.
