The University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) offers an innovative one-year master's program designed to enhance the scientific knowledge of graduates who desire to pursue a professional degree in the biomedical sciences or in healthcare.
The UIWSOM Master of Biomedical Science (MBS) program includes a rigorous curriculum that integrates science, research, bioethics and medical humanities, culminating into a final capstone project.
UIWSOM is located at the up-and-coming Brooks community on the south side of San Antonio, Texas, which is the home of the former U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine. Students in the MBS program share faculty and facilities with learners in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) program.
