The Orchestra Academy of the Helsinki Music Centre and the close-knit cooperation between professional orchestras allow you to collect hands-on work experience. You will get to network with current and future top musicians already as a student.

Content and objective of the program

This program is a combined 3-year Bachelor's and 2.5-year Master's degree. You can choose flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, or saxophone as your major subject.

During the three-year bachelorโ€™s studies, you will study chamber music, music perception, music history, pedagogy, and languages, and you will also be able to include optional and minor studies in your schedule. Performance and audition coaching and general training in skills needed as a professional are part of the studies in the program.

You will receive 90 minutes of individual instruction per week. In addition to the lessons with your teacher, you can also regularly attend master classes taught by visiting teachers.
