What you’ll study
The Juris Doctor is a graduate entry professional law degree that provides a pathway into the law profession for graduates from non-law backgrounds or for people with law degrees from overseas.
While focusing on international, comparative and transnational aspects of law, this course will develop your critical analytical, research, writing, communication and advocacy skills to prepare you for legal practice.
You will complete core units that cover the prescribed Academic Areas of Knowledge required for admission to legal practice, and elective units including at least one jurisprudence elective.
This qualification opens up a broad range of career options. You may wish to practise as a solicitor or barrister or outside the legal profession as a corporate counsel, business strategist, government policy advisor or entrepreneur.
Our graduates work in a wide variety of organisations from large international organisations such as the United Nations or the World Bank to small community legal services.
