Characteristics and Objectives

The Single-Cycle Master’s Degree Program in Pharmacy spans five years and aims to train graduates with adequate theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for practising as Pharmacists and for working in the healthcare sector as experts in medicines and health products (medical-surgical devices, cosmetics, dietary products, herbal products, diagnostic products, and medical devices).

In particular, during the course of study, students acquire specific knowledge aimed at shaping the professional figure of the Pharmacist, who, working in the pharmaceutical sector of the National Health Service, must interact with other healthcare professions. Furthermore, the program provides training for new professional roles, such as the Community Pharmacist and the Territorial Pharmacist. The Community Pharmacist is responsible for providing integrated home care, while the Territorial Pharmacist deals with drug information, pharmacovigilance, monitoring, and drug management.

The program is structured over five years and is organised in such a way as to allow students to follow a learning path that starts with basic disciplines and gradually leads to specialised disciplines aimed at developing professional skills suited to current labour market needs. The Teaching Regulations for the European framework-compliant Single-Cycle Master’s Degree in Pharmacy (LM-13) were updated starting from the academic year 2023–2024, making the Pharmacy degree a qualifying degree.
