The degree programme aims to provide a coherent educational path designed to produce graduates with:

  • knowledge of theoretical models and methods of analysis in linguistics, sociology of cultural and communicative processes, information processing systems, philosophy and theory of languages, political science, contemporary history, and cognitive psychology, including experimental methodologies and field research;
  • the ability to apply theories and methods to the description and analysis of contemporary society;
  • the ability to apply theories and methods to the description and analysis of specific texts (including multimodal texts and texts in English) and to apply analytical methodologies to textual criticism of content, message accuracy, expressive and symbolic capacities, or communicative effectiveness;
  • familiarity with various aspects of the interdisciplinary study of the social, economic, and historical role of media and communication technologies, as well as the social and cultural impact of media discourse;
  • familiarity with the key themes underlying the study of the relationship between society and the media;
  • the ability to use theories and methods of communication sciences and to apply fundamental principles in different applied domains (corporate communication, political communication, institutional communication, public relations) for the development of messages and content within production processes, as well as to produce content for all types of media and textual genres;
  • advanced communicative competence in spoken and written English (B2/C1/C2).
