About the Course
The University of Rhode Island’s Master of Public Health (MPH) program prepares students to address complex community health challenges through a social determinants of health framework, hands-on learning, and mentorship from experienced public health professionals.
- Develop an intersectional framework to understand the complex interplay of social determinants of health and how they intersect to contribute to health disparities.
- Design strategic plans that operationalize intersectional frameworks to effectively target and reduce health disparities
- Utilize project management tools to ensure intervention fidelity for public health program evaluation.
- Develop qualitative and qualitative research tools needed to be able to evaluate the impact of public health programs
- Identify, analyze and evaluate grant funding opportunities and mechanisms.
- Develop grant writing skills by completing a comprehensive grant application adhering to the guidelines and requirements of a funding agency.
