Introduction

Postgraduate Diploma in Health and Social Care Management


The Postgraduate Diploma in Health and Social Care Management at Henley Business School is designed for health and social care professionals with significant management responsibilities. It is suitable for those new to the role as well as those with significant experience. The content of the course is adaptable to suit a wide range of interests and professional requirements while also providing a full coverage of the key areas of management of particular relevance to the sector.

Program Structure

Aminimum of 120 credits should be accumulated and may be taken over a minimum of two year and a maximum of six years. It is necessary to have studied the three core modules above plus:

a minimum of 10 credits of Managing People
a minimum of 10 credits of Managing Information and
a minimun of 10 credits of Managing Services.


Depending on your interests you may find it desirable to study slightly more than the minimum requirement for the qualification.

It may be possible to use credit you have already gained via other courses outside the Foundations for the Future programme.

Entry Requirements

Participants in the programme should be working in a managerial role in the health and social care sector in a post graded at band 6 or above. Normally, applicants already hold a degree in any discipline, however non-graduates with relevant experience and/or equivalent qualifications may also eligible to join the course.

Additionally, applicants must have a reasonable level of experience in using computers and the internet as this is a distance learning course requiring students to participate in online learning activities. Applicants may wish to brush up on their IT skills within their Trust if they are not confident in their skills before embarking on a course.
