Key Summary

    About: The MSc (Nutrition) program provides comprehensive training in nutritional science and application. This course focuses on vital areas such as human nutrition, dietary assessment, and public health nutrition. Students will engage in both theoretical and practical learning to prepare for various roles in the nutrition field.
    Career Outcomes: Graduates can pursue careers as registered nutritionists, dietitians, health educators, or work in food service management and research roles. The program equips students with the skills to make an impact in community health, clinical settings, and food policy.

MSc (Nutrition)

The degree is conferred based on a dissertation.

Candidates must write a dissertation on their research project in Nutrition and at least a concept research paper for publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.The progress of all master's candidates is monitored biannually by the supervisor and the postgraduate coordinator. A candidate's study may be terminated if the progress is unsatisfactory or if the candidate is unable to finish his/her studies during the prescribed period.

The Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences is home to more than 6 500 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Faculty presents degrees in fields ranging from the proverbial A to Z – from actuaries to zoologists, and consists of 13 departments.
