Introduction
BSc (Entomology)
The BSc (Entomology) program gives exciting insights into insect diversity, conservation, ecology and physiology. As a graduate you can help to protect our crops, livestock, human health and the environment. This program is right for you if you want a career in forensics, environmental affairs, or plant, animal or public health.
All of our lecturers are leaders in their fields. They have strong ties to governments, local and international organisations, and industries. This unlocks employment and postgraduate opportunities.
Graduates find employment as biological control researchers, entomological collections curators, environmental consultants and managers, forensic entomologists, insect pest management specialists, insect-rearing and laboratory technicians, quarantine officers, public health practitioners, and many more.
An entomologist is a scientist who studies or works with insects and related animals. With more species of insects on Earth than any other group of organisms, the work of entomologists is vitally important and affects us all.
