Preparatory Year for Learning Romanian for Foreign Citizens

The Preparatory Year for Learning Romanian for Foreign Citizens is mandatory for those students who wish to pursue their studies (high school, university) in Romania, and do not have a Romanian language certificate.

During this one-year, full-time academic program, the international students acquire the necessary skills (reading, wring, listening, and speaking) in Romanian for academic purposes, and they also gain specific knowledge in the field of their future study program (technical, medical, economic, humanities and arts).

Reasons to choose this program

You will reach level B2 of the Common European Framework in Romanian becoming able to enroll in a Romanian education program. After graduating, you can enroll in a Romanian undergraduate (at bachelor, master, Ph.D. level), post-graduate, or advanced training program, in various fields. Besides the lectures, you may take part in extracurricular activities allowing international students to understand Romanian academic life and culture. Various social events, excursions, outings, and documentary visits to other cities and tourist attractions are regularly organized to ensure social, linguistic, and cultural integration.
