Key Summary

About : The MSc in Nursing APRN (Intensive Care) provides advanced training for registered nurses seeking to specialize in critical care. The program focuses on clinical competencies, leadership, and research methodologies to prepare students for high-stakes environments. This course typically lasts one year, offering a comprehensive curriculum that includes both theoretical knowledge and hands-on clinical practice.
Career Outcomes : Graduates may pursue various career paths, including roles as Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) in intensive care units, clinical nurse specialists, or nurse practitioners. They can also explore leadership positions in healthcare management or quality improvement roles, contributing to patient care and outcomes in critical care settings.

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides patient-centered safe and high-quality care by partnering with patients and their caregivers. They will blend their clinical expertise with health prevention and health management and deliver a unique blend of nursing and medical care. Nurse Practitioners in Hungary will be clinicians with advanced degrees in acute and emergency care areas, and they will be able to do assessments, perform and interpret diagnostics tests, set diagnoses as well as prescribe medications and other treatments. APRNs can work in their full scope of practice in the countries and in facilities where this degree is recognized on a national level.

A Bachelor of Nursing degree is required for entry-level. Further specializations of the APRN are available, within the training program of Nurse Practitioners:

  • Emergency Care Nurse Practitioner (every 2nd year)
  • Nurse Anesthetist (every 2nd year)
  • Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
