Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine (PGDipOccMed)
The Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine (PGDipOccMed) is a two-year, part-time, distance-taught program for international students. The diploma is a stand-alone qualification used as a qualifying possible point for admission to Fellowship of Occupational Medicine training for specialist training in many countries around the world.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Occupational Medicine (PGCertOccMed) is available through Distance Learning.

Curriculum
The program shall consist of four papers in Occupational Medicine:
- Health, Work and Behaviour
- Clinical Occupational Medicine
- Managing Occupational Medicine
- Health and Industry
A candidate may apply to substitute a research paper, AVME 780 or AVME 785, for one paper above.
Subject to approval, a candidate may be granted an exemption for up to two of the prescribed papers on the basis of having completed an appropriate paper or papers at an equivalent level offered by the University of Otago, another university or an approved examining body.
A candidate who has completed the requirements for the Postgraduate Certificate in Occupational Medicine shall be exempted from those papers in the program for the diploma which have been previously passed for the certificate.

Application details
Applicants must apply online. They should also attach all the necessary supporting documents which includes scanned copies of their previous official academic transcripts (awards gained, marks, grades) with their application, and provide proof of their identity this is usually achieved by providing a certified copy of the personal details page of their passport or a birth certificate (in English). Applicants may also be required to submit an Educational Credential Evaluators report (ECE). As soon as applicants have completed their online application, their proof of identity document must be posted to International Division, University of Otago, PO Box 56, Dunedin 9054, New Zealand. International student applications for semester 1/summer school study close: Oct-31; Semester 2 study close: Apr-30.
