Course Overview
MSc Innovative Design is a multidisciplinary programme that brings together creativity and cutting-edge technologies. Students develop expertise in integrated innovation, human–product interaction, digital fabrication, and AI-enabled design, guided by teaching that spans engineering, design, and computing. Aimed at graduates and professionals, the programme helps strengthen innovation skills while broadening perspectives across technology, design, practice, and academia. Balancing creative vision with technological practice, it enables students to address real-world challenges through industry-driven projects. Graduates will be prepared with the knowledge and experience to succeed in innovation-led sectors and apply design to contemporary challenges.
The MSc Innovative Design is offered as a one-year full-time programme (three semesters) or a two-year part-time option. Component 1 covers 120 credits of taught modules across autumn and spring, including compulsory and optional choices from mechanical, electronic, and computer science. Component 2 is the summer Graduation Dissertation, extending insights from earlier industry-driven projects into academic research.
