About

University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was the first Sino-foreign university to open its doors in China. Established in 2004, with the full approval of the Chinese Ministry of Education, we are run by the University of Nottingham in partnership with Zhejiang Wanli University, a key player in the education sector in China.

    The Department of Campus Life (DCL) provides an extensive range of administrative and support services to all students of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. It encompasses quality services in the areas of wellbeing support, extracurricular engagement and initiatives for diversity and social inclusion. The staff of Campus Life care about students' needs, listen to students' voices and respond to students' requests in a timely manner, all of which aim to enhance students' experience through a diverse, interactive and rewarding journey with lifelong impact.

    Undergraduate – Preliminary Year (Y1 of Four)

    ·Local/non-international curriculum accepted

    ·GCSE/IGCSE/O Levels: minimum of five B grades including Bs in relevant subjects

    ·English requirement: IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.0 in any element/PTE Academic 59 (minimum 53); TOEFL iBT 72 (minimum 14 in Reading, 15 in Listening, 19 in Speaking and 16 in Writing)

    Undergraduate – Qualifying Year (Y2 of Four)

    •A Levels: Minimum ABB/BBB for most programmes; relevant subject requirements vary by programme.

    •IBDP: Minimum 28–34, with specific Higher Level subjects and grades required for certain programme.

    •APs: Minimum 4,4,4 – 5,5,4 across three subjects.

    •Other international qualifications are also accepted.

    •English requirements: IELTS 6.5 with the Writing band no less than 6.0; PTE Academic 71 (minimum 65); TOEFL iBT 90 (minimum 19 in Writing). Some programmes require IELTS 7.0 no less than 6.0 in Writing.

    Postgraduate (Mostly 1 Year)

    •UK 2:1 degree (or equivalent)

    •English requirements: IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any element; PTE Academic 71 (minimum 65); TOEFL iBT 90 (minimum 19 in Writing and Listening, 20 in Reading and 22 in Speaking). Some programmes accept IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any element.
