Key Summary
Introduction
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) with a major in cybersecurity prepares the next generation of cybersecurity professionals to protect and defend industry, government and military data and networks. Students pursuing a B.S. with a major in Cybersecurity will take a variety of computer science and cybersecurity courses focused on script programming, data networks and practical applications in cybersecurity as well as an intensive capstone project. The B.S. with a major in cybersecurity is designed in alignment with the NIST/NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework's SP, PR, AN, and IN categories.
In addition to this academic degree program, the Mike Cottrell College of Business offers a graduate certificate in cybersecurity and is home to the Institute for Cyber Operations Education.
UNG is designated as a National Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency and is one of six federally designated senior military colleges in the nation.

Program Outcome
Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity program in the Mike Cottrell College of Business at the University of North Georgia will be able to securely provision systems, protect and defend networks, analyze threats and investigate incidents.
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Conceptualize, design, and build secure information technology (IT) systems,
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate threats to internal information technology (IT) systems and networks,
- Perform highly specialised review and evaluation of incoming cybersecurity information, and
- Investigate and recover from cybersecurity incidents.
