Introduction
The world rsquo;s population is aging at an unprecedented rate, affecting the way societies around the globe deal with the growing number of older people. This online program introduces you to the issues, questions, perspectives, needs, and contributions of older persons and compares the opportunities and challenges associated with aging populations internationally ndash;and prepares you for a career in serving the varied needs of the aging population.
In this program, you will:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of global aging processes, including social, cultural, economic, and health aspects, enabling you to critically analyze and address the needs, rights, and well-being of older adults in different cultural and societal contexts
- Acquire research skills and interdisciplinary knowledge in gerontology, psychology, sociology, public health, and policy, equipping you to design and implement innovative programs, policies, and interventions that promote healthy aging and enhance the quality of life for older adults
- Cultivate intercultural competence, empathy, and communication skills, preparing you to engage with diverse populations, collaborate with stakeholders, and advocate for age-friendly environments and inclusive practices at the global level
