Introduction

The online Certificate in Professional Translation and Interpreting is designed for students with high proficiency in English and at least one spoken Language Other Than English (LOTE) who are interested in developing language mediation skills to meet the needs of an increasingly globalized world.

Logo states that UMass Amherst is an Approved Institution.If you are bilingual, meet our language proficiency requirements, and would like to reenter the worforce as a translator and interpreter, our online Certificate in Professional Translation and Interpreting is now on the list of Eligible Training Providers (ETPL) of the state of Massachusetts. Based on individual assessment and funds available, an ITA (Individual Training Account) may be awarded to eligible adults, dislocated workers and out of school youth ages 18-24.
