Key Summary
About: The Master of Science in Finance programme at The University of Macau launched in 2009 and is taught by internationally recognized scholars in the Faculty of Business Administration. It targets students with strong mathematical background, combines quantitative skill-building with research training, and covers banking, corporate finance, research methods and FinTech (financing and financial innovation). The BSc in Finance is recognized by the CFA Institute and some faculty hold the CFA.
Career Outcomes: Graduates can enter investment banking, corporate finance, asset management, risk management, financial analysis, quantitative finance, FinTech roles, credit analysis, and academic research, or pursue doctoral study globally.
The Master of Science in Finance Programme at the University of Macau was launched in 2009 and taught by the internationally recognized scholars of the Faculty of Business Administration. It is designed as a series of skill-building courses and character-broadening experiences. The intention of the programme is to offer an opportunity to qualified students who also have strong mathematical background to study an advanced degree in Finance. In addition, students who are in pursuit of higher academic qualifications would be equipped with research capability.
Our focus on quantitative skills can prepare students for both work and further study. Courses will be structured and designed to link taught materials with motivation of independent thinking. There are industry related courses in areas such as banking and corporate finance, and also courses related to research methods to enhance research skills of students. We also provide Financial Technology related course, covering topics in FinTech financing, financial innovations, and etc. In addition, our programme maintains a good relationship with CFA institute as some of our faculty members are Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) and our BSc in Finance is recognized by CFA Institute under its University Affiliation Programme.

In order to welcome more outstanding international students to pursue their studies at UM, the University has established the International Student Scholarship, which provides tuition and accommodation fee waivers for the awardees during their normal period of study (subject to annual continuation).
Students who have studied in an elementary/primary school, high/secondary school or higher institution outside China (i.e. outside mainland China, Macao SAR, Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan region) will be prioritised.

Eligibility
International applicants of full-time Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes (excluding executive degree programmes) of UM who meet the following requirements are eligible to apply for the Scholarship.
- valid foreign passport holders; and
- fulfil the admission requirements of the respective degree programme.
Eligibility excludes those admitted through the Joint Admission Examination for Macao's Four Higher Education Institutions.
Bachelor’s Degree Scholarship Package
Full Scholarship:
- 100% waiver of Bachelor’s Degree Programme tuition fee
- 100% waiver of Residential College accommodation fee (shared bedroom)
Half Scholarship:
- 50% waiver of Bachelor’s Degree Programme tuition fee
- 50% waiver of Residential College accommodation fee (shared bedroom)
Master’s Degree Scholarship Package
Type A Scholarship:
- 100% waiver of Master’s Degree Programme tuition fee
- 100% waiver of on-campus accommodation fee (shared bedroom)
- Half teaching assistantship (MOP 4,000/month)
Type B Scholarship:
- 100% waiver of Master’s Degree Programme tuition fee
Type C Scholarship:
- International tuition differential waiver (awardees pay the local student tuition rate)
Duration of Scholarship (Bachelor’s and Master’s Scholarship)
The Scholarship is granted for the normal period of study, with its continuation from year to year subject to a successful annual review of the awardee’s satisfactory academic performance.
