Introduction
This is for you if... you want to study research methods at an advanced level and conduct an original research project in psychology.
This postgraduate degree will provide you with advanced training in research methods in the psychology of mental health, equipping you with the research and professional skills required for a research career.
The School of Psychology and Vision Sciences has particular research strengths in the:
- Cognitive and behavioural sciences
- Perception and sensory processing
- Health and psychological well-being, including ageing
You will be encouraged to undertake a research project in one of these areas.
Teaching and learning
All teaching is seminar-based, or in the one-to-one tutorial and research supervision sessions, with continuous assessment in the form of a research protocol, oral and poster presentations, and in the development of portfolios of assessed activities. You will write a thesis on original empirical research, which will involve an oral exam (viva).
