Key Summary

About: The MCom in Industrial Psychology Professional develops advanced applied competence in analyzing, interpreting and applying industrial psychology methods and research. You’ll improve written and oral communication and complete independent scientific research. The qualification may allow access to an internship leading to registration with the Professional Board for Psychology (HPCSA). UJ offers a multicultural Johannesburg campus with student support, sports facilities and strong research activity.

Career Outcomes: Graduates can enter roles such as Industrial Psychologist, HR consultant, organizational development practitioner, assessment specialist, talent manager, or researcher. The degree also supports progression to doctoral study and consultancy in people analytics practice.

The purpose of the MCom in Industrial Psychology Professional is to develop applied competence at an advanced level, specifically in the analysis, interpretation, and application of industrial psychology principles and methods. The student should furthermore be able to identify, contextualize, and/or interpret industrial psychological theories and research. During the course of study, the students will further develop their written and oral communication skills and demonstrate competence in independently undertaking and concluding advanced and original scientific research. The qualification may allow access to an internship which may eventually lead to registration as an Industrial Psychologist with the Professional Board for Psychology of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
