The Interuniversity Master’s Degree in Historical Analysis of the Contemporary World is intended to prepare you for research and specialisation, allowing you to continue your education in an autonomous, critical manner, acquire research skills and conduct original historiographic research.

It brings together teaching staff from seven university departments in Andalusia, who are experts in Contemporary History and related areas (Historiographic Sciences and Techniques; Modern History; American History; Economic and Sociological History) and five teachers from the University of Bourgogne (France), Carlos III University of Madrid (Spain), University of Costa Rica (Costa Rica), University of Girona (Spain) and University of Pittsburgh (USA) (experts in Sociology; History of Political Thought; Contemporary History; Economics, Ethics and Social Sciences; and Comparative Social History), who are linked to the programme via the International University of Andalusia. The aim is to respond to students’ interest in a postgraduate programme that allows them to specialise in a chronological period that begins in the late 18th century and continues through to the present, exploring complex social, political, economic and ideological issues that affect us to this day.

You will also be able to take advantage of the University of Jaén’s unique cross-disciplinary training programme and the range of activities offered in connection with this master’s programme to improve your personal development and professional prospects.
