Introduction
Starting from the 2016/2017 academic year, the SUN Department of Law offers its students a new opportunity for internationalization, in addition to traditional exchange programs. Students will be able to attend a new study program developed jointly at the University of Murcia (Spain) which will allow them to spend three semesters at the foreign university and to obtain, at the end of the course, a double degree, i.e. a double degree. . More precisely, the qualifications awarded at the end of the course are the "Grado en Derecho" at the University of Murcia and the "Master's Degree in Law" at the Second University of Naples.
The goal is to allow SUN students to live a stimulating experience in a prestigious foreign university and thus to broaden their academic, cultural horizons and future job opportunities. The issue of the double degree allows access to the “Master en abogacia” in Spain for the attainment of the forensic qualification.
The University of Murcia is located in the city of the same name in southern Spain, was founded in 1915 and is a young and dynamic university.
The Department of Social and Legal Sciences is located in the city center, in a modern and functional structure, and is home to a Center for Bioethical Studies of international importance (CEBES).
The city is located a few kilometers from the sea, in the center of an area that offers remarkable historical and landscape beauties, in the south of the capital Madrid, which is about 3.5 hours away.
RECIPIENTS AND GRANTS
All interested students can enroll in the international CDL in Law activated in partnership with the University of Murcia: those already enrolled in the SUN Department of Law (all active degree courses); those coming from another university; those who enroll for the first time at the University.
For students who are already enrolled in other SUN Degree Courses and who decide to undertake the new international CDL in partnership with the University of Murcia, personalized procedures for the recognition and validation of exams already taken will be activated.
Those who decide to enroll in the International CDL in Law in Partnership with the University of Murcia will be able to apply for the scholarships allocated annually by the SUN. Part of these scholarships are reserved for foreign students.
HEADQUARTERS AND METHOD OF CONDUCT
The Courses in Italy will take place at the offices of the SUN Department of Law, in Santa Maria Capua Vetere (CE). Likewise, the Courses in Spain will take place at the headquarters of the Department of Social and Legal Sciences, located in the urban center of Murcia. The teaching is divided, in both partner universities, in cycles of lectures with any written and / or oral tests. The exams are oral and may be preceded by a written test.
Program Outcome
The new international CDL activated in partnership with the University of Murcia allows enrolled students to obtain, at the end of the course, a double degree, i.e. a double degree in Law. In other words, we are dealing with two degree titles (double title) of which one will be valid in Italy as a Master's Degree in Law, and the other in Spain as a Grado en Derecho. Both qualifications can be spent internationally in the EU area or outside the EU.
The new international CDL aims to train a class of professionals who can access the legal professions in the partner countries and in the EU area and who can enter the job market with great competence and experience gained in the field. To this end, the course includes a period of study abroad (a year and a half) and a period of professional internship in the country of origin.
The release of the double degree allows access to the "Master en abogacia" in Spain for obtaining the forensic qualification.
Lastly, among the educational objectives of the international CDL SUN/University of Murcia there is also the learning of foreign languages since the enrolled students, in addition to the languages of the two partner countries, will be able to improve their knowledge of other foreign languages.
