Introduction
The Department of Letters and Cultural Heritage of the SUN (DiLBeC), from the academic year. 2015-2016 activated a new integrated study course with the Institute for the International Service of Tourism and Foreign Languages of the Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University - PSLU - (Russia). The course offers students the opportunity to obtain a double degree, i.e. a double master's degree in Modern Philology and Linguistics. The course lasts two years and includes a training course agreed with the foreign university and a mobility period abroad of two semesters; involves the issue, at the end of the study period and after passing the final exams, of two master's degree diplomas with the following denomination at the respective offices:
at the SUN "Doctor of Modern Philology", and at the PSLU "Master in Linguistics", recognized according to the official regulations in force in the two universities and in their respective countries. For students, this new course is an unrepeatable opportunity to enrich their professional curriculum and acquire a completely unique and captivating training profile.
The Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University is one of the most accredited Russian universities; its Institute for the International Service of Tourism and Foreign Languages is located in a modern and functional structure located in the center of the city of Pyatigorsk, an important spa town located in the Federal District of the North Caucasus.
RECIPIENTS AND GRANTS
Students in possession of a three-year degree, obtained in Italy or a Bachelor's degree from Russian universities, can enroll in the CDL in Linguistics and Modern Philology, activated in partnership with the Linguistic State University of Pyatigorsk.
Italian students will have to know the Russian language, taught at the 'Pushkin' Russian Culture Center which was established in 2015 at DiLBeC in Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
Russian students will have to know the Italian language.
For students who are in possession of a three-year Degree Diploma other than the one prescribed and who decide to enroll in the new CDL in Linguistics and Modern Philology, personalized procedures will be activated for the recognition and validation of exams and university credits already achieved.
Those who decide to enroll in the CDL in Modern Linguistics and Philology will also be able to compete for the call for scholarships allocated annually by SUN. Part of these scholarships are reserved for foreign students.
HEADQUARTERS AND METHOD OF CONDUCT
The Courses in Italy will take place at the offices of the Department of Letters and Cultural Heritage of the SUN, in Santa Maria Capua Vetere (CE). Courses in Russia will take place at the headquarters of the Institute for the International Service of Tourism and Foreign Languages, located in the center of Pyatigorsk. The teaching is divided into cycles of lectures with possible written and / or oral tests. The exams are oral and may be preceded by a written test.
Program Outcome
The new international CDL established with the Institute for the International Service of Tourism and Foreign Languages allows enrolled students to obtain, at the end of the course, a double degree, i.e. a double master's degree. Each university will award the respective master's degrees to the participating students.
In other words, these are two degree titles (double title) of which one will be valid in Italy as a Master's Degree in Modern Philology, and the other in Russia as a Master's degree in intercultural communication and foreign language skills in management and business innovative, with the title of "Master in Linguistics". Both qualifications are recognized in Europe and beyond.
Therefore, the new CDL aims to train a new professional figure who possesses not only the necessary philological and language teaching skills, but also full communicative competence in the language of the partner country (Italian and Russian) and in English. In fact, the new course of study provides for a period of study abroad (two semesters) and a period of professional internship in the country of origin, in language training institutions, publishing houses and press agencies.
