Educational Sciences - Pedagogy:

The fundamental mission of the study program in Educational Sciences - Pedagogy aims at the qualification of specialists in the field of education and training in order to contribute to the increase of the quality of human resources and to the development of the educational system in Romania.

The main objectives proposed for the students of this specialization:

  • Specialization in two areas of major labor market interest: Education and training and Social pedagogy and counseling.
  • Preparing as specialists in education and training, by developing competences necessary for the exercise of specific professions at the organizational, institutional, local and national level.

The labor market for licensed graduates in the specializations of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences has transformed and diversified a lot in recent years. For example, with regard to the labor market for graduates with a degree in Pedagogy, there is a shift from a dominant of the teaching profession to other fields related mainly to adult learning and lifelong learning programs, project management and educational programs in public sector, nonprofit or private, training and development of human resources, consultancy in learning processes, education and assisting people at risk, etc.

The duration of the studies - the bachelor cycle - is 3 years, day courses, which end with the support of the license exam.

The first two years of study are common and include courses such as: General Psychology and Development, Student Class Management, Intercultural Education, Sociology of Education, Computer Assisted Training, Professional Practice, Educational Counseling, Educational Management etc.

The third year specializes in:

  • EDUCATION AND TRAINING (courses: Human Resources Management, Training Methods and Techniques, Project Management, Creativity Psychopedagogy, etc.) or
  • SOCIAL PEDAGOGY AND COUNSELING (courses: Nonprofit Management, Education and Assistance for Special Needs, Social Pedagogy, Socio-Educational Partnership, etc.)

Students admitted to Education - PEDAGOGY have the possibility to obtain double degrees: University of Bucharest - Bachelor's Degree in Pedagogy and VIA University College of Denmark - Bachelor's Degree in Social Pedagogy following a theoretical and practical training in Denmark.
