Introduction
This Chemistry Master Degree - entirely taught in English – provides the students with a solid, versatile and up-to-date preparation in the growing fields of photochemistry and material science.
It enables students to plan, simulate, synthesize and characterize new materials, and to investigate, understand and exploit the effects of the electromagnetic radiation interacting with materials of natural and synthetic origin.
The course – focused on photochemistry and chemistry of materials, with increasing attention to nanomaterials - offers investigation methods and practical activities useful to develop theoretical and experimental skills, to be applied in future jobs in the industry, in public and private research, and in the academy.

University students may obtain economic support during their studies from the Emilia Romagna Region, the University of Bologna, and other external bodies.
International Talents @Unibo: scholarships for international students a.y. 2025/26
The University of Bologna awards 30 new scholarships to deserving international students, holding an academic qualification from a non-Italian education system, who wish to enrol in Master’s degree programmes in 2025/26.
Scholarships are worth €6.500 gross and include full exemption of tuition fees. These grants are awarded for two academic years, based on GRE test scores and the verification of financial status.
