The Master of Nursing study program is one of the study programs at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga which was established in 2008 based on the Rector's Decree number 4311/J03/OT/2008. The Master of Nursing Study Program at the Faculty of Nursing Universitas Airlangga consists of four (4) specializations, namely Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Nursing, Mental Nursing, and Nursing Management. The curriculum used refers to the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) with a study load of 43 credits taken within 3 semesters.

Learning methods in the Master of Nursing Study Program at Universitas Airlangga include facilitated discussions, group discussions, simulations, case studies, collaborative-cooperative learning, project-based learning, problem-based learning, or other learning methods, which can effectively facilitate the fulfillment of graduate learning outcomes by focusing on on the Student-Centered Learning (SCL) method. Another method used to support the learning process is through online learning such as e-learning, MOOC, and others. At this time the learning method used is blended learning which is a combination of offline and online.

The learning process at the Masters of Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga is carried out on campus and in practice areas. The practice areas used include hospitals, health centers, health offices, and nursing homes. Some of the practice areas in collaboration with FKP are Dr. Hospital. Soetomo Surabaya, Universitas Airlangga Surabaya Hospital, and overseas hospitals, Surabaya Menur Hospital, UPTD Griya Werdha Jambangan Surabaya City and Puskesmas in the work area of ​​the Surabaya City Health Office.

The Nursing Masters Study Program has been accredited with an A (Very Good) rating based on Decree Number 0221/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Mag/IV/2018, and in 2019 is in the process of applying for international accreditation to the Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics /Computer Science, the Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN).

Study Program Mission

  1. Organizing and developing Master of Nursing education in accordance with the development of science and technology with excellence in non-communicable diseases treatment.
  2. Carrying out innovative and proven basic, clinical, community research to develop knowledge, technology, and/or art in the field of nursing or nursing practice with excellence in Non-Communicable Disease care.
  3. Organizing service in the field of science and nursing practice with excellence in treating Non-Communicable Diseases to the community based on national values, ethics, and religious morals.

Study Program Objectives

  1. To produce quality Masters of Nursing who are superior, independent, innovative, and able to work in the field of nursing based on religious ethics and morals that can compete at national and international levels with excellence in the field of Non-Communicable Disease nursing.
  2. Produce innovative basic, clinical, and community nursing research to encourage the development of nursing at national and international levels with excellence in the field of Non-Communicable Diseases nursing.
  3. Produce reasoning-based community service and research works that are useful in innovatively empowering communities to be able to solve nursing problems independently and sustainably with excellence in the field of Non-Communicable Diseases nursing.
