About: The BSc in Business Administration (Islamic Finance Concentration) at The University College of Bahrain (UCB) is an early GCC programme and the only programme recognised as an AAOIFI Affiliated University. It covers Islamic economics, banking and finance, Islamic commercial law (fiqh muammalat), takaful and maqasid al-shariah, embedding Islamic values and ethics to prepare students for Shariah-compliant finance and Islamic banking.
Career Outcomes: Graduates can work across Islamic finance, takaful, Shariah compliance, banking, accounting, risk management, regulation, research and education. Potential careers include Islamic finance analyst, Shariah compliance officer, Islamic bank officer, takaful underwriter, professional auditor, financial consultant or academic/researcher.
B.Sc in Business Administration (Islamic Finance Concentration) at UCB is one of the earliest bachelor degree programmes in Islamic finance taught in the Kingdom of Bahrain and in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. We are also proud that our B.Sc in Business Administration (Islamic Finance) is the only Islamic finance programme in the GCC region to be recognized as Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) Affiliated University. The B.Sc in Business Administration (Islamic Finance Concentration) is designed to provide students with strong knowledge and understanding in Islamic economics, banking, and finance, Islamic commercial law (fiqh muammalat), Islamic insurance (takaful), and the higher objectives of shariah (maqasid al-shariah). The courses offered in this program are also imbued with Islamic values and ethics to produce ethical Islamic finance professionals in the growing Islamic financial services industry.
