The Professional Bachelor's Degree in Education with an international profile combines academic quality, practical training, and a focus on teaching in diverse classroom settings.
You will explore Danish pedagogical traditions and gain the knowledge and skills needed to teach in Danish schools – including the public school system (folkeskole). Through internships in Denmark and abroad, you will gain hands-on experience that sets you apart and supports your personal and professional growth.
We welcome both international and Danish-speaking students, who will study side by side from day one in a vibrant international learning environment.
The programme is taught partly in English and partly in Danish. You begin your studies in English, and if you do not already meet the Danish language requirements, you will have to learn Danish alongside your studies. This enables you to work in Danish schools and contribute meaningfully to the national education system.
After two years of study, you will have the opportunity to apply for our Honours Degree, designed for highly motivated students who want an even deeper academic challenge. The Honours Degree adds 30 ECTS to your diploma and enhances your intercultural and community building competences. You will study alongside fellow students from the Danish-taught teacher education programme.
The programme is based at Campus Vordingborg, known for its strong educational community and supportive learning environment.
Internship: We Learn by Doing
Teaching practice is an essential part of your education at Absalon. You will complete four internship periods, which allow you to apply your knowledge in real classroom settings:
Teaching experience includes:
- 1st year: Weekly placement at a local Danish school
- 2nd year: Full-time internship at an international school in Denmark
- 3rd year: Internship at a school in Denmark or abroad
- 4th year: Internship at a Danish school
This practical experience strengthens your teaching skills and gives you valuable insight into different educational cultures.
