Université Paris Cité is a major research-intensive University in the heart of the French capital offering one of the most complete and ambitious multidisciplinary education and research in Paris, with a strong international reputation. In the 2025 Shanghai Ranking (ARWU), the university has been ranked 60th globally among 1,000 selected institutions.
The Medical School, part of the Faculty of Health, is the largest medical school in France and Europe with around 800 students enrolled each year for a six-year undergraduate curriculum, several thousands of residents and fellows; the total researchers and teaching faculty reaches 1,400, and 500 administrative staff. Altogether, approximately 25,000 students are enrolled at the school, and the research carried out in the 34 research units represents almost 25% of the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) research potential.
Université Paris Cité Medical School is a research-intensive medical school affiliated with international level research institutions, such as the Imagine Institute and the Pasteur Institute. Medical students complete their clinical rotations in 19 affiliated teaching hospitals, where all medical and surgical specialties are represented, including two major children’s hospitals, part of the largest hospital network in Europe: the Assistance-Publique Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP).
