It also allows non-French-speaking international students to follow a program taught entirely in English at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne while learning French through French as a Foreign Language courses. The Sorbonne Innovates with an English-Taught Economics Bachelor's Program - International Track

In September 2025, Panthéon Sorbonne University Paris 1 will launch a new undergraduate program: the Economics Bachelor's (Licence)- International Track. Fully taught in English, this innovative, fee-free course offers the opportunity to join a program of excellence.

As of September 2025, up to 250 students (maybe you?) will join the new Economics Licence- International Track at the Sorbonne School of Economics. The academic teams have been working on the project for months, with one goal in mind: to design an international program entirely taught in English that meets student demand while positioning this prestigious University on the global stage. As emphasized by the program's coordinator, Rémi Bazillier, the program also aims “to cater to students who may not have the financial capacity to enroll in a Bachelor's program abroad.” Indeed, the new Economics Licence - International Track is designed to be affordable... and already prestigious.

A Unique Educational Experience in France

“If you look around France, programs exclusively in English are rare, if not inexistent; generally, only a few courses are offered in English, and it is mainly in the third year that the level increases,” says Rémi Bazillier. This has now been resolved: France now boasts its own 100% English-taught program of excellence, the Economics Licence - International Track at Sorbonne, determined to attract both French and international students.

Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, International Monetary Economics, History of Economic Thought… The courses will mirror those offered in the general Economics Bachelor's (licence) program: “We refer to the same curriculum as our French program,” notes the program coordinator. “But changing the language also changes the perspective: the approach is more international, for example, institutional courses focus on the institutions of other countries.” Additionally, students will choose a minor. Among the options available: a French program option (management, philosophy, law, etc.), or a program offered by UNA Europa, a European alliance of 11 prestigious universities, such as the European Studies certificate or micro-credits on sustainable development, enhancing their CV.
