About: This Master's trains students in plant molecular and cellular biotechnology, covering molecular biology, cell biology, plant genetic engineering and applied techniques for crop improvement, biofuels, bioplastics, vaccines and phytoremediation. It's delivered within the postgraduate Biotechnology programme at the Universitat Politècnica de València and at the University Institute of Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology (a CSIC–UPV joint centre), taught by UPV professors, CSIC researchers and industry experts.
Career Outcomes: Graduates can work in research and development, plant biotechnology, genetic engineering, agri‑food and crop improvement, biofuels and bioproducts, pharmaceutical and vaccine production, environmental remediation, industry regulatory affairs, or pursue doctoral studies.
The Master's Degree in Plant Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology trains specialists in molecular and cellular biology and plant biotechnology for research, development and technological innovation projects. Given this scenario, both industry and scientific research demand greater expertise in the latest biotechnology techniques, from the perspectives of cellular and molecular biology as well as plant genetic engineering. To this end, this Master's program, part of the UPV's postgraduate program in Biotechnology and taught at the facilities of the University Institute of Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology, a joint center of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia, offers a curriculum in which students will gain in-depth knowledge of cutting-edge techniques and applications in the field of plant biotechnology.
The Master's program is taught by professors from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, with the collaboration of renowned researchers from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). It also incorporates contributions from leading companies in the field of biotechnology, in order to offer graduates a business perspective alongside that of basic and applied research.
Students from undergraduate, graduate or engineering programs in the field of experimental sciences whose curriculum provides basic knowledge in Molecular and Cellular Biology and, preferably, contains subjects related to Plant Biology.
