The Master in Journalism BCN NY of the University of Barcelona (Faculty of Philology and Communication) offers a global, practical and professionalizing journalistic dimension, guaranteed by a teaching staff highly linked to the most important media and with the guarantee of the School of Journalism of the Columbia University of New York, a leader in the journalistic field.

Columbia Journalism School

Since its founding by Joseph Pulitzer at the dawn of the 20th century, the University has been at the forefront of information technologies, while remaining true to its mission as a guardian of the high values of independent, professional, and quality journalism. Columbia University, which celebrated its centennial in 2012, is the first institution in the United States dedicated to practical journalism education and continues to be the most prestigious of its kind.

Each year, three professors from different media outlets, sent by Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, come to conduct intensive workshops. The Dean or Vice Dean of the School visits the program and leads a seminar, and Columbia's methodology and standards of work and editing are rigorously followed. This is overseen by at least three professors from the Master's program who were trained in the Columbia system in New York, including the Master's program director. Each year, the program awards the most coveted journalism prizes known, the Pulitzer Prizes, and many others, such as the Peabody Awards for television, the National Magazine Awards, and the Maria Moors Cabot Prize for journalists and media outlets in Latin America.

Once the course is completed and the professional internships are passed, students receive, along with their Master's degree in Journalism from the UB, the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Journalism from Columbia University.

Since 1998, the BCN NY Master in Journalism is the only program outside the USA that boasts the prestigious seal, the participation of professors and a program academically endorsed by Columbia University Journalism.
