Key Summary
The master's degree in Internationalization is designed to serve the growing demand for knowledge of and professionals capable of responding to the complexities posed by globalization. It is an overtly interdisciplinary program that combines elements of economics, business, law and politics to provide an understanding of how to manage new global realities and rules. The course is addressed to postgraduate students with a basic level of training in this field and is also open to applicants with other academic profiles who are interested in the many implications of internationalization.
International relations give rise to increasingly complex areas of knowledge encompassing profound changes in the rules of economic, business, legal, social and political activities. This complexity generates new educational requirements and growing demand for training based on new realities and emerging trends, which is the fundamental motivation for this master's program.
Moreover, the challenges implicit in addressing the combination of 'globalization' and 'crisis' emphasize the importance of an international outlook in driving recovery and the improved global positioning of many economies and societies. Detailed examination of these concepts is therefore required and should be achieved by providing people with the analytical and professional skills to understand the innovative requirements of global activity and preparing them to devise and propose new and effective solutions.
This master's degree also tackles the interdisciplinary dynamics of global problems and challenges, in which elements of economics and business interact in a highly complex way with socio-political, legal and cultural phenomena.
The languages of instruction for this program are Spanish 90%; English 10%.
Students wishing to enrol must hold an official bachelor's degree or equivalent undergraduate qualification and provide evidence of comprehensive training in a discipline related to the content of the programme, especially in the areas of economics and business, law and politics. Since this is an interdisciplinary programme, graduates in other disciplines may also be accepted. A particular focus will be placed on knowledge and approaches conducive to internationalization (languages, mobility, interculturalism, etc). Previous versions of this programme have proved that groups of students with from different academic and cultural backgrounds generate a much richer learning environment.
In this program (90 credits) students can expect:
- To acquire a broad understanding of international relations and the new scenarios generated by globalization.
- To acquire the skills and abilities required to take on the direction, analysis and management of companies and institutions, incorporating the dynamics of internationalization.
- To be able to respond to the needs of societies seeking to become part of new global realities and to recognize the capacity for taking on these challenges as one of the foundations for their prosperity.
- To acquire strong interdisciplinary training; to strengthen analytical skills, reasoning skills, and the capacity for synthesis, and to harness the potential or new technologies to improve spoken and written communication.
