Key Summary
The Master of Chemistry at Universitas Airlangga is a distinguished program within the Faculty of Science and Technology, designed to meet the global demand for highly specialized chemists. Holding the prestigious "Unggul" (Excellent) national accreditation, the program offers advanced specializations in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry. Structured as a two-year, full-time program, it focuses on the development of accurate, innovative models and theories that address complex challenges in health, industry, and the environment.
Students are trained to solve scientific problems at both micro- and macro-molecular levels using experimental, theoretical, and computational approaches. With a vision to become an international center of excellence in bioscience and chemical synthesis, the program emphasizes sustainable technological principles and religious morality.
Graduates are prepared to contribute to global research roadmaps through interdisciplinary collaboration and high-impact scientific publications, ensuring they are ready to lead in the competitive international labor market.
Vision
To become a national and international center of excellence in bioscience, synthesis, and chemical analysis based on sustainable technological principles through basic and applied scientific education and research for the benefit of society based on religious morality.
Mission
- To organize quality chemistry education based on the development of science and technology, the national and international labour market needs.
- To develop innovative basic and applied scientific research based on the development of science and technology.
- Carry out community service as a manifestation of social responsibility to strengthen and improve the quality of life of the community.
- To collaborate with government and private institutions at national and international levels for the sustainability of program development.
- Deepen or extend the science of chemistry or applied chemistry by producing models/methods/theory development that are accurate, tested, innovative, and scientifically publishable in national or international peer-reviewed journals.
- Solving scientific and technological problems related to chemical structures and properties at the micro- and macro-molecular levels through experimental, theoretical deductions, or computational/simulation approaches.
- Develop the benefits of chemical science for wider application in health, industry, and the environment.
- Contribute to the planning and management of a research roadmap in chemistry through an inter- or multidisciplinary approach.
