Introduction

One century ago the Università per Stranieri (University for Foreigners) of Perugia was born, as the name makes clear, as an high culture institution dedicated to the teaching of Italian language and culture. Nowadays, we offer degree courses that range from undergraduate to PhD, but still devote a lot of our efforts to this prestigious tradition of language teaching, proposing courses that use up-to-date methods and technologies.

Language courses have a minimum duration of four weeks and conclude with a final examination. A two-month course is required to complete the A1 level, while a three-month course is required to complete the A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 levels. The three-month courses start in January, April, July, and October. The students, however, can enrol for one or more months at any time of the year (you can find here a calendar). Institutions, associations, organizations and companies can request tailor-made courses, with duration and content adapted to their needs.

Culture courses are also held, aimed not only at students enrolled in language courses but also at enthusiasts, Italians and foreigners, of the various disciplines, such as Italian music, cinema, theatre, art, philosophy, and so on.

Courses are in presence and at a distance (synchronous and asynchronous classes), with the active participation of students and the possibility to interact with teachers.
