Introduction
This year-round program provides Italian language and academic preparation for international students who want to improve their Italian for university admission or career advancement.
Extracurricular activities
Italian Cooking, Painting on Ceramic, Stone Carving, papier-mâché, Folk dance, Field trips, and much more.
Online Italian courses
LUM offers online courses so you can improve your language skills from home. Also, online courses carry academic credits.

Curriculum
Language Courses
Courses are designed according to the European Council’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages guidelines:
- A1 Level (Breakthrough)
- A2 Level (Waystage).
- B1 Level (Threshold )
- B2 Level (Vantage)
- C1 Level (Effective Operational Proficiency).
- C2 Level (Mastery)
Intensive Courses
20 hours per week (80 hours/module) from Monday to Friday
Ordinary Courses
16 hours per week (64 hours/module) from Monday to Thursday
Individual Courses
A teacher is assigned to a single student who needs to achieve very specific linguistic and cultural goals using flexibility. According to every student’s needs, a teacher is chosen; after that, the student and teacher plan the study program and how the course shall be held.
Thematic Courses
Students can follow specific programs of:
- Italian Literature
- History and Philosophy
- Art and Architecture
- Specific language (medical, economic, engineering, computer, politics, academic)
Courses are activated with a minimum of 5 students in the afternoon hours. Please contact our Student Administration Office for information about the costs of extra activities, customized and thematic courses, and for information about special prices for groups with or without extra activities.
