Introduction
Forensic Sciences constitute a complex field of knowledge with a clear practical application in solving issues of great social importance, since they train specialized professionals who are required to assist the Ministry of Justice in matters of great importance (investigation of violent deaths, toxicological diagnosis, paternity, identification, etc.).
The program is supported by the Legal Medicine and Criminology, Forensic Genetics, and Forensic Toxicology research groups, also linked to the USC Institute of Forensic Sciences. The three groups, national and international references in this field, develop three main lines of research, always guided by the latest scientific advances and focused on solving the main unknowns of the moment. The main objective of the program is to train the best professionals and researchers in the different fields of Forensic Sciences, who generate quality research and international impact, and are adequately prepared to face the changing scientific challenges that society will formulate them.

Ideal Students
The entry profile for access to this doctoral program must be that of a student, who, in addition to meeting the legal requirements, manifests a clear interest in Forensic Sciences, has the capacity for teamwork and initiative, and have sufficient command of English to develop their doctoral stage with the maximum guarantee of success.
The Master's studies that will allow entry to this doctoral program without training complements will be the following, offered by the USC: Health Care, Management and Care; Advocacy; Biotechnology; Dental Sciences; Biomedical Research; Research and Development of Medicines; Research in Veterinary Medicine and Health; Advanced Chemistry; Organic Chemistry.
Students with the DEA degree obtained through the following USC Doctoral Programs will also have access without supplements: Forensic Sciences and Pathology; Molecular Medicine; Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; Basic and applied research in veterinary sciences; Research in veterinary medicine and health.
Students with another type of profile different from the previous ones will also be able to access the doctoral program, as long as this is considered appropriate by the CAPD, which will evaluate each case individually. The possibility of requiring training supplements (maximum up to 15 ECTS) will be considered. In the case of other profiles that do not complete a Master's degree, an equivalence of training in research credits will be required, at least equal to those of the master's degree that gives direct access, which will be 15 ECTS.
Students with a foreign degree that has not been approved may apply for admission to doctoral studies as long as a level of training equivalent to that of the official Spanish university master's degree is accredited and entitles the country issuing the degree to access doctoral studies. . This admission will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree or recognition for purposes other than those of access to these teachings.
