Key Summary

About : The Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering focuses on designing, analyzing, and manufacturing mechanical systems. This program typically spans four years, blending theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Students will study key areas such as thermodynamics, materials science, and fluid mechanics, which are essential for a successful career in engineering.
Career Outcomes : Graduates can pursue careers as mechanical engineers, project managers, or design specialists. They may find opportunities in various sectors, including aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing, where they can apply their skills to innovate and improve mechanical systems.

The mechanical engineer is the professional who works in the planning and supervision of the industrial transformation of materials, mainly metals, into parts and assemblies. It also uses pressure and temperature variation and hydraulic, pneumatic and thermal energy.

He is, therefore, a professional with a vast potential for activities, which can be seen in the internship opportunities for students and work opportunities for graduates.

From the first semester, students participate in practical activities, such as the design and construction of a pedal quadricycle, which ends with a disputed competition at the end of the semester. But it is a very serious subject, as it requires dedication and study from the participants, who must master physical concepts.

Throughout the Course, there are seminars and debates to develop team integration, critical thinking and responsibility in decision-making, valuing ethical principles.

The tests take place in 12 (twelve) laboratories in the various areas of mechanics, using modern equipment for machining, welding, mechanical automation, pneumatic and hydraulic automation, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and material testing, among others. Several software programs make it possible to simulate real situations in a digital environment.

Professors guide Course Completion Works of great interest not only to industries, but in the areas of health and social inclusion, with interdisciplinary studies under the guidance of professors from other courses. This was the case, for example, of a group that delivered a racing simulator for training to para-athlete Heitor Mariano, world champion of the Miami Half Marathon and São Silvestre in 2014. The same team set out to build another, more complete piece of equipment. , multifunctional, for the treatment and training of people with different physical disabilities.
