Introduction

The main objective of the Medicine course is the prevention of diseases, the maintenance of health and its recovery whenever necessary, investing in treatment, with the teaching of what is most current. For this to be achieved, it offers knowledge so that the student can be able to promote the health and well-being of individuals, from pregnancy, birth and childhood, to aging, always aimed at a good quality of life.

In the initial years of the Medicine course, the student learns theoretical and practical fundamentals in the areas of the Basic Cycle of Training, such as: Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Semiology and Propedeutics. In the following years, the course has subjects from the Professionalizing Cycle that emphasize the study of diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The last two years are destined to the Internship, where the student attends the associated Health Units on a daily basis and follows the routine of the sectors in order to develop practical knowledge specializing in patient care.
