Introduction

Health management currently represents one of the areas with the greatest potential for professional development. The strong dynamics registered in the evolution of the sector, in its multiple dimensions, accentuates the need for differentiated human resources with an increased capacity to adapt to different institutional and business realities. In this context, the Postgraduate in Health Management was developed to promote the aggregation of knowledge and the development of multidisciplinary skills in the field of management of health systems and organizations. Through an innovative pedagogical proposal, this program has a strong theoretical-practical and practical component, classes taught both in an academic environment and in a hospital environment, international interactions, which include a visit to Madrid, and Masterclasses with recognized experts in the sector.

This Postgraduate course aims to enable students to strategically plan and manage change in health organizations, from the framework and analysis of innovation trends, in health for strategy, management and leadership of teams and for operational efficiency. . It stands out for its innovative character supported by an academic model based on experiential learning, through the use of simulation and case studies and with the participation of a faculty with extensive academic, professional, multidisciplinary and international experience. The syllabus and its integration into an innovative academic model also aim at training for the analysis and reflection on the main challenges that health management currently faces in Portugal and internationally, providing participants with the necessary skills to identify the factors differentiation in the health sector. It attaches special focus to the themes of health management based on value creation, digital transformation in health, management of health technologies and the development of innovation in the areas of management and organizational innovation, as well as leadership practices, interpersonal relationships and decision-making together with an incentive for teamwork and the promotion of networking and exchange of experiences with different managers and health entities, both nationally and internationally.
