Introduction
The Master's in Genomics and Genetics aims to meet the demand for highly qualified professionals for the genomics and genetics sector, which is increasingly established in our society.
Ideal Students
Aimed at dynamic people, with interest in scientific and technological research and in cutting-edge and continuous training, as well as in the transfer of genetic and genomic knowledge to the industrial and productive sector.
The entry profile will be very broad due to the transversality of the master's degree, covering, in general, the branches of knowledge of: Sciences, Health Sciences and Engineering and Architecture.
Within these branches of knowledge, the degrees that give preferential access are the following degrees/degrees/engineering:
Veterinary, Biology, Medicine, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Psychology, Pharmacy, Marine Sciences, Food Science and Technology, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Biomedical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural and Agri-Food Engineering, Forestry and Forestry Engineering Natural Environment.
Curriculum
The subjects will be structured into two types of modules (mandatory and optional). Each subject has a teaching load of 3 ECTS. The master's degree offers the possibility of taking it with a specialty. For this, mandatory subjects of the Basic Module are offered, and subjects within the three modules corresponding to the three specialties.
- Basic (MB): 7 subjects
- Specialty in Genetic Diversity (DG): 7 subjects
- Specialty in Genetic Applications (GA): 8 subjects
- Specialty in Human Genetics (GH): 7 subjects
Mandatory
- 7 subjects (corresponding to the Basic Module).
Optional
5 subjects of those offered by specialty or 5 subjects of the 18 electives offered if the master's degree is not taken in any of the specialties.
The teachings will conclude with the preparation and defense of a Master's Thesis (TFM), which will have 15 ECTS.
At the time of presentation of the Work, students must have passed the mandatory credits (21), optional credits (15) and mandatory external internships (9).
The study plan is structured into subjects, external internships and TFM.
Program
60 ECTS credits, distributed in four modules.
There is the possibility of carrying out this training without specialization.
Modules / Specialties / Credits
- Basic Module 21 compulsory credits
- Specialty in Genetic Diversity 21 optional credits
- Specialty in Genetic Applications 24 optional credits
- Specialty in Human Genetics 21 optional credits
- External Practices 9 compulsory credits
- Master's Final Project 15 compulsory credits
