Master in Portuguese as a Foreign Language/Second Language

The general objectives of this cycle of studies are to:

  • promote and disseminate Portuguese language, literature and culture internationally by fostering interdisciplinary intersections;
  • disseminate and affirm Portuguese as an international language, respecting its varieties and making students aware of their specificities;
  • carry out scientific research in specific areas of Portuguese as a foreign language and as a second language;
  • provide masters qualification to graduates of foreign Universities with Portuguese studies, who are speakers of Portuguese as a foreign or second language, and who wish to develop their skills in Portuguese language, culture and literature.
  • promote a possible pursuit of studies to the doctoral level.
