Introduction
Master in Environment and Health
The Master's course in Environment and Health aims to train professionals with skills to assess and understand the fundamental interrelationships between the natural and humanized environment and health, providing future Masters with knowledge and skills to: define priorities in the area of environmental health; critically discuss the principles of analysis for decision making and their application to the integrated assessment of environmental and health risk; to consolidate knowledge and experience in environmental health management and prevention; and mobilize knowledge that enables integration in research and professional activities in the subject of environment and health.

Program Outcome
In particular, the Master in Environment and Health will be able to:
- identify and understand environmental agents and their impact on health;
- understand the environment-health chain of events, from the emission of the pollutant to the human body;
- use methodologies for assessing human exposure to pollutants;
- understand and work with epidemiological data;
- assess the environmental risk to public health;
- participate in environmental impact assessment studies;
- consult and apply legislation and regulations in the subject of environmental health;
- appropriately communicate issues related to the environmental impact on health;
- propose environmental management strategies consistent with health objectives;
- follow scientific and technological developments.

Career Opportunities
The Master in Environment and Health will hold the skills to perform senior management functions in several areas of the public or private sector, developing activities to assess and prevent situations of environmental contamination and health risk. It will also be able to propose measures to improve public health based on integrated measures to improve environmental quality, and to carry out research and development activities in the area of ??environment and health. The professional opportunities are diversified, both in terms of the area of ??intervention and in terms of employing institutions, citing as examples:
- the Central Administration, in particular the Portuguese Environment Agency and the General Directorate of Health;
- the regional institutions, namely the Regional Coordination Commissions and the Regional Health Administrations;
- local administration, Hospital Centers/Hospitals, Health Center Groupings, Intermunicipal Communities and Local Authorities, covering the entire national territory;
- the business sector, consultancy companies and industrial complexes;
