Master in Civil Engineering
The Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (MEC) aims to promote high-level training in the field of Civil Engineering, guaranteeing students the necessary qualification to perform full functions in this area. This mater course follows on of the Degree in Civil Engineering.
At the end of the study cycle, the graduates of the Master's Degree in Civil Engineering will be able to plan, conceive, design, construct, supervise, manage, maintain and rehabilitate civil engineering works, and integrate research, consultancy and technical advisory teams.
They may work in design offices, in civil construction and public works companies, in central and local administration services, in the areas of transportation infrastructure, geotechnics, structures, hydraulic works, building heritage recovery and rehabilitation works, production and recycling of construction materials, implementation of sustainable solutions and management and maintenance of undertakings.
The course equips its Students with:
- in-depth knowledge of the phenomena and problems related to Civil Engineering, in the field of specialty sciences;
- knowledge and capacity to diagnosis and solve problems in the area of Civil Engineering;
- critical ability to analyse and interpret relevant data, scientific and social issues
- ability to communicate information and ideas, problems to specialist or non-specialist audiences;
- the development of learning abilities necessary to pursue lifelong studies with a high degree of autonomy.
