Introduction

Master in Chinese Studies

The Master in Chinese Studies is offered by the University of Aveiro and the ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.

The master aims at providing students with Chinese studies culture which fosters i) the capacity to intervene in concrete situations; ii) the knowledge about the Chinese politics, economy, language and culture and about the evolution trends in the international context; and iii) a critical stance towards the Portuguese and the Chinese societies. It also aims to provide students with the competences to participate in the multicultural debate about ideas, concepts, principles and development models, focusing in particular the links between China and the Portuguese speaking world. This will allow for a better capacity to build and implement development strategies which, in a context marked by a variety of perspectives and interests, can effectively contribute to strengthen the connections between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries.
