Graduate Specialisation Program in Applied Statistics to Health Sciences
The course aims to provide specialized, solid and cohesive training in knowledge and practical skills in the application of statistical methods frequently used in the context of health sciences, clinical research and epidemiology
This course aims to introduce R software and different analysis methodologies for different experimental designs. The learning objectives are to:
- Data manipulation and analysis using R
- Consolidation and / or knowledge of statistical inference concepts;
- Conducting the analysis appropriate to different types of data and study hypotheses (e.g. univariate studies of association, multiple regression, survival analysis, meta-analysis
- Interpretation of the results of the statistical analysis to solve problems with real data (of a medical nature)
- Critical analysis of statistical methodologies present in scientific documents in biomedical / epidemiological contexts.
- Development of self-learning skills; investigation; selection, synthesis and communication of appropriate information.
