Introduction
If you wish to experience life in Quito and study at USFQ’s main campus join us for our Cumbayá program and take up to 16 US credits per semester at USFQ alongside local students.
USFQ offers nearly 2,000 courses each semester in a wide variety of disciplines. More than 80 of these courses are taught in English. Students with almost any academic interest can find exciting and challenging enrollment options. Spanish language classes at all levels are also offered to international students.
Outside of the classroom, you can enjoy all that the city of Quito has to offer while surrounded by vibrant neighborhoods and beautiful colonial architecture that make the city a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Update COVID-19 Cumbaya Program
There will likely be restrictions on the number of in-person classes students could take, and there might be a preference for course allocations for students who need laboratories.
For the fall, some of the changes we anticipate are:
- Students must arrive with a valid PCR negative test or proof of vaccination.
- A limited number of in-person courses.
- Limited host families availability. Unfortunately, many host families have relatives with high-risk factors and are unable to offer their services the next semester. However, we will provide students with a list of recommended areas where they could stay.
- Online Orientation
Course Options
Students participating in the Cumbayá Program are able to choose their courses from across USFQ's ten colleges. USFQ offers hundreds of courses each semester in Spanish and English. Spanish language classes at all levels are also offered to international students.
