Key Summary
Introduction
The Master in Analysis and Prevention of Terrorism aims to provide students with the necessary tools for a comprehensive understanding and rigorous study of the complex phenomenon of terrorism. This issue has acquired significant importance, especially after the events of September 11 in the United States, as well as other terrorist attacks such as those in Madrid on March 11, 2004 and London on July 7.
The program is designed to serve professionals in the security field, allowing them to acquire specialized knowledge in the sociopolitical aspects of the terrorist phenomenon. In addition, it aims to deepen the specialization and qualification of professionals from the State Security Forces and Corps, Intelligence and National Defense, Administration of Justice and State Foreign Action. In addition, the Master is open to professionals specialized in issues related to terrorism within civil society and to students who wish to acquire substantive knowledge about political violence and terrorism.

The study plan is designed with the objective of promoting the student's acquisition of specialized knowledge about the sociopolitical field of the phenomenon of terrorism and security. The structure of the study plan seeks to improve the student's ability to organize, plan and analyze sources related to the course subject matter. The combination of theoretical and practical content of the different subjects seeks to improve the development capabilities of critical reasoning around the subject of the course. In this way, an attempt will be made to enhance interpersonal and group work skills, as well as the development of relevant competencies to assimilate and incorporate the learning acquired in the field of analysis and prevention of terrorism.
The teachings of this Master are structured following a design whose objective is that at the end of this degree the student has acquired extensive knowledge and analytical skills in the following areas:
- The history of terrorism and the origin of terrorist organizations, as well as their dynamics of action.
- The profile of militants of terrorist groups and the importance of psychosocial variables in the analysis of terrorism.
- The characteristics of the main anti-terrorist measures adopted by democratic governments and the difficulties involved in their implementation, including the underlying problems of international cooperation.
- Legislative reforms and the participation of international organizations in the fight against terrorism.
- The role of civil society and the collective action of victims against terrorism.
- The existing constitutional limits on anti-terrorist legislation.
- The role of the Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism, the definition of the main terrorist threats to national security and the responses to them.
- The design of public policies against terrorism and the comparison of various anti-terrorist models.
- The differences between anti-terrorist models that are designed and applied in democratic and non-democratic contexts.
- The objectives and functions of national and international political and legal institutions in the fight against terrorism, as well as the different strategies against this phenomenon, developed from various areas.
Curriculum

- CE3. Know how to use constitutional principles and values as a working tool in the interpretation of the political system and the legal system and respect them in the development of professional relationships in the field of terrorism.
