    About : The PhD in Business and Territorial Competitiveness, Innovation and Sustainability focuses on the intersection of business and sustainable development. Eligible candidates should have

  • BSc/BA and MSc/Mres in Business, Economics, other social sciences or Engineering, with good marks.
  • Advanced level of English (C1)
  • A research idea that fits with our research lines
  • Passion for engagement in scholarly conversations and discovery and for making impactful research

Although it is not mandatory, a level of A2 in Spanish is strongly recommended to ease integration into the community.

The application procedure is different if you want to apply for one of the scholarships available or to do the self-funded programme.

Scholarships

These are the steps to follow:

  1. Submission of certificates and research proposal
  2. Interview with a three-member panel
  3. If accepted, a supervisor is appointed by us
  4. Selected candidates officially apply to the PhD programme

Application Timing • Application must be submitted to our affiliated Institute of Research in Technology (IIT) • Application window: October-March• Admission decisions communicated in May • Courses start on 1st September and they are taught face-to-face

Self-funded

These are the steps to follow:

  1. Interview with the PhD Director
  2. Interview with potential supervisor(s) suggested
  3. A supervisor agrees to supervise your work: only candidates with a supervisor will be admitted
  4. Formal application: only certified merits are considered

Application Timing • Application must be submitted to the Academic Office • Application window: January-May • Admission decisions communicated in June • Courses start in the second week of September.
